Good morning. Topics worth your time today include demand certainty: missile defense gets a seven-year production signal, humanoid robotics heads for public markets, and several smaller industrial facilities are reopening or expanding around specific capacity needs.
The Lead
Lockheed Martin got the kind of order that changes the factory calendar.
The U.S. government awarded the company a seven-year THAAD interceptor contract worth up to $35 billion. The contract holds a total value at $35.327 billion, with work running from March 2026 through June 2032 in Dallas, Sunnyvale, Troy, and Camden. The first obligation is $842.9 million, which matters because the rest of the headline number depends on future orders and funding.
THAAD is the missile-defense layer built to hit short, medium, and intermediate-range ballistic missiles inside or outside the atmosphere. The Pentagon is trying to turn urgent interceptor demand into a long production run that lets factories, suppliers, and labor planners build against a real calendar.
A few regions are highlighted: Troy, Alabama is getting a new munitions production center. Camden, Arkansas now has a munitions acceleration center, Courtland, Alabama has a new Next Generation Interceptor facility, and Dallas and Sunnyvale remain part of the official work map. Missile defense is becoming a network of production nodes, each with its own workforce, supplier bench, tooling constraints, and local tax base.
Time to build…..
