Standard & Works is headed to Detroit next week for the IEDC Annual Conference.

We spoke to the organization about what’s in store.

Here’s two big things to expect:

Showcasing Detroit and the output of regional collaboration

  • In the sea of economic development organizations, it can be hard to get stakeholders in the same region to row in the same direction – including not competing with one another.

  • IEDC hopes to showcase how Detroit and Michigan economic development organizations have honed their efforts to work together.

Covering the range of different skills supporting economic developers today

  • The economic development profession today requires a broad range of skills, so the conference’s program is designed to support that diversification.

  • There’s a whole track dedicated to communications and storytelling, which we look forward to attending!

Send me a note if you’ll be there.
